Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Civil Construction Laborer to join our team and contribute to various infrastructure projects. This role involves assisting with site preparation, equipment operation, and general construction tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. Prior experience with heavy machinery and construction tools is highly valued to ensure efficient project completion and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

- Assist the pipelayer in installing water, sewer and storm pipe.
- Prepare pipe bedding and trench bottoms.
- Compact backfill using plate compactors and jumping jacks.
- Handle fittings, pipe, aggregate and construction materials.
- Assist with installation of valves, hydrants, services, manholes and catch basins.
- Spot excavators and other heavy equipment.
- Perform hand digging around existing utilities.
- Assist with site cleanup, road-base preparation and grading.
- Operate small equipment such as skid-steers, compactors and pumps when trained.
- Maintain tools and keep work areas organized and safe.





Qualifications

- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation such as backhoes, bucket trucks, or excavators is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery and tools is highly desirable
- Experience with electrical systems, particularly low voltage wiring or installations, is a plus
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and rigging techniques
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely following established protocols
- Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding labor tasks in outdoor environments
- Knowledge of safety standards related to construction sites and equipment operation
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting while adhering to project deadlines
- Valid driver’s license preferred for operating or transporting equipment in office

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
