We are currently recruiting an experienced Cook/Chef for a full-time contract opportunity with our client in Oakville, Ontario.

This opportunity is best suited for an experienced culinary professional who is comfortable working in a long-term care, retirement living, seniors care, healthcare, or institutional food service environment and understands the importance of food safety, resident-specific dietary requirements, sanitation, and consistent meal quality.

Position Overview

The Cook/Chef will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals according to established menus, recipes, and resident dietary requirements.

The successful candidate will be confident working in a structured food service environment and will help ensure meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable dietary and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements
- Prepare regular, therapeutic, special, and texture-modified meals as required
- Ensure appropriate portion sizes, food quality, presentation, and temperatures
- Follow food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and safe food handling procedures




- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and food preparation environment
- Support inventory management, food storage, stock rotation, and kitchen organization
- Ensure meals are prepared and served according to established schedules
- Work collaboratively with Dietary Aides and other members of the food services team
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and dietary standards
- Support efficient day-to-day kitchen operations

Qualifications & Requirements

- 3+ years of professional cooking experience is strongly desired
- Red Seal Cook/Chef certification is strongly desired
- Previous experience in long-term care, retirement living, seniors care, healthcare, or institutional food services is strongly preferred
- Experience with high-volume or large-quantity food preparation
- Experience preparing therapeutic, special, and texture-modified diets is strongly preferred
- Current Food Handler Certification
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
- Dependable, professional,



and comfortable working in a rapid-paced setting
- Ability to reliably commute to the Oakville work location
- Availability to start immediately
