Position Overview

We are hiring an experienced Overnight Dispatcher to manage approximately 20 overnight City trucks. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role requiring strong dispatch experience, accountability, and the ability to manage drivers and resolve issues independently.

We are looking for an experienced dispatcher who can take ownership of the operation. This is not an entry-level position.

Key Responsibilities

- Dispatch and manage approximately 20 overnight City trucks and drivers.
- Monitor driver performance, productivity, pickups, and deliveries.
- Communicate with drivers by phone and Samsara.
- Track shipments, manage ETAs, and update the TMS accurately.
- Resolve delays, breakdowns, missed appointments, and service issues immediately.
- Coordinate with customers, terminals, and internal teams.
- Manage cross-border shipments, customs clearance, and documentation as required.
- Monitor trailer availability, yard activity, and equipment requirements.
- Maintain accurate order entry, trip completion, and shipment records.




- Provide a complete handoff to the morning dispatch team.

Requirements

- Minimum 2 years of hands-on dispatch experience required.
- Proven experience managing City/Local trucks and drivers.
- Experience with FTL operations and Canada–USA cross-border freight.
- Strong knowledge of the GTA and surrounding areas.
- Experience with Samsara, Fleet Manager, Excel, Outlook, or similar systems.
- Ability to manage multiple trucks, prioritize loads, and make quick decisions.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be reliable, accountable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently overnight.

Expectations

You will be responsible for managing approximately 20 trucks throughout the overnight shift. We need someone who understands dispatch, takes initiative, follows through on every assignment, and handles problems without constant supervision.

We need an experienced, dependable qualified who takes ownership and gets the job done. If you do not have hands-on dispatch experience, this position is not for you.
