OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for day-to-day finance and accounting operations, posting journal entries, month-end accruals, oversight on AP & AR and weekly & monthly reports.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Financial Reporting & Close: Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Demonstrated ability to handle complex accounting tasks, and manage GL, inter-company and bank reconciliations.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all financial statements and records comply with local and national accounting standards (such as GAAP, ASPE, or IFRS) and tax regulations.
- Auditing Support: Coordinate with external and internal auditors, compile audit schedules, and resolve complex discrepancies.
- Analysis & Budgeting: Analyze financial trends, support forecasting and variance analysis, and build management reports to aid executive decision-making.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, train, and review the work of staff and junior accountants.




- Process Improvement: Evaluate internal controls and implement system or workflow efficiencies.

QUALIFICATION/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience with major accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, SAGE, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, robust time management and organizational skills and excellent verbal & written communication skills.

Experience:

3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing sector with experience in dealing with external auditors for year-end.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
