Position Type: Short-Term Contract
Hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, as required
We are seeking a qualified and certified Contract Welder for a short-term assignment in a marine and industrial environment. The successful candidate will have proven welding experience, solid attention to detail, and the ability to perform high-quality welds in all positions using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform SMAW (Stick Welding) in all positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
- Complete welding and fabrication tasks according to specifications, drawings, and applicable welding standards.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, strength, and structural integrity.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area.
- Work independently and collaboratively with other trades and team members to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid welding certification for SMAW in all positions.
- Demonstrated experience with stick welding in industrial, marine, or structural applications.
- Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and quality standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work the scheduled hours of 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM for the duration of the contract.
