Job Overview

- We are seeking a dependable Kitchen Assistant/Cook to support daily kitchen operations and help prepare and serve meals.
- This hands-on role is suited to someone who enjoys working in a team, keeping a clean and organized workspace, and contributing to a positive dining experience.
- Prior kitchen or food service experience is helpful, but applicants with a strong willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided on workplace procedures and food safety practices.

Duties

- Assist with food preparation and meal preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, and organizing ingredients.
- Cook or help cook menu items according to recipes, instructions, and established quality standards.
- Support food service by plating meals, serving guests, and replenishing items as needed.
- Follow food handling and food safety procedures, including proper hygiene, storage, temperature control, and prevention of cross-contamination.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, utensils, equipment, and service areas throughout the shift.
- Help receive, store, and rotate food supplies while keeping the kitchen orderly.




- Communicate with kitchen and service team members to coordinate meal timing and respond to routine requests.
- Follow workplace safety guidelines and promptly report equipment or food-safety concerns.

Skills

- Interest in cooking, food preparation, and meal preparation.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, safe food handling and food safety practices.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to stay organized and maintain cleanliness in a busy kitchen.
- Attention to detail when following recipes, instructions, and sanitation procedures.
- Serving or food service experience is an asset.
- Restaurant experience, kitchen experience, or other food industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform active kitchen work, including standing for extended periods and handling routine kitchen tasks.

Pay: $17.60-$35.19 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
