Restoration & Rebuild Technician

About the Job

911 Restoration is The Fresh Start Company. We help homeowners and businesses recover from water damage, fire, mold, and other property disasters — from emergency response all the way through to a finished, rebuilt space.

We’re looking for a skilled tradesperson to join us on a casual, as-needed basis for rebuild work. Hours will vary depending on our job volume — some weeks you’ll have a full schedule, other weeks nothing. We’re upfront about that. What we can offer is $25/hr-$28/hr, interesting and varied work, and the potential for hours to grow as our business grows.

Drywall, trim, and general finish work are the core of this role. We’ll teach you the restoration side — what we need you to bring is the hands-on trade skill to take a rebuild across the finish line.

Key Responsibilities

- Drywall installation, taping, mudding, and finishing to a paint-ready standard
- Trim and millwork installation — baseboards, casings, door and window trim
- Painting — interior walls, ceilings, and trim
- General carpentry and construction repairs as part of property rebuilds
- Flooring installation and repair
- Minor plumbing and electrical support (non-licensed tasks, working alongside licensed trades)
- Assist with water damage mitigation tasks as needed — equipment setup, moisture readings, water extraction (training provided)
- Demolition of damaged materials — drywall, flooring, cabinets, and structural components as required
- Manual labour including debris removal, hauling, and job site cleanup
- Maintain clean, safe, and professional job sites
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members

What We’re Looking For





Required:

- Proven hands-on experience in drywall finishing, trim work, and general construction or renovation
- Eye for detail — finish quality matters to us and to our customers
- Ability to work independently and manage your time on site
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform sustained physical work
- Comfortable working in damaged structures, at heights, and in confined spaces
- Reliable — when we call, we need to know you’re available and ready
- Positive attitude and solid work ethic
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment screening
- Valid and Clean Ontario G license and driving history — required

Nice to Have:

- Experience in restoration, remediation, or insurance repair work
- Contents restoration experience — pack-out, inventory, content cleaning, or move/storage
- IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, OCT) — training available
- WHMIS, Working at Heights, or other safety certifications
