Job Title: Dispatcher / DZ Driver – Construction Materials

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00am-3:00pm

Requirements: Valid Ontario DZ driver's licence mandatory. AZ licence and forklift operating experience are assets.

Reporting to the Fleet/Yard Manager, your primary role as Dispatcher / DZ Driver will be to coordinate the shipping, receiving, and delivery of construction materials, ensuring that orders reach job sites safely and on time. This is a hands-on position combining dispatching, commercial truck driving, inventory coordination, and yard operations.

Your tasks will include:

- Coordinating daily activities with drivers and yard personnel to ensure efficient material handling, timely deliveries, and smooth yard operations.
- Receiving and processing material orders from site Foremen and scheduling deliveries and pickups.
- Coordinating material and stone slinger deliveries, including company trucks and third-party transportation.
- Operating DZ-class flatbed trucks to deliver construction materials, move fleet vehicles, and provide driving coverage as operationally required.
- Maintaining a highly organized and safe working environment.
- Assisting with the safe loading and unloading of trucks as necessary.
- Preparing packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documents, and verifying incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery records.
- Monitoring inventory levels,



maintaining accurate records, identifying shortages, and reporting damaged materials.
- Coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs with approved service providers.
- Maintaining accurate dispatch, delivery, and receiving records.
- Following company safety procedures and applicable commercial vehicle regulations, including required vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

Required:

- Valid Ontario DZ driver's licence, including the Z air brake endorsement, with a satisfactory driver's abstract.
- Experience operating commercial trucks and delivering materials to construction sites.
- Experience in construction, building supplies, transportation, logistics, or related yard operations.




- Strong knowledge of GTA roads and surrounding areas to plan efficient delivery routes.
- Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple deliveries and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and digital mapping applications.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and safe vehicle operation.

Assets:

- Valid Ontario AZ driver's licence.
- Forklift operating experience or certification.
- Dispatching or transportation scheduling experience.
- Knowledge of construction materials, aggregates, and drainage supplies.
- Familiarity with CVOR requirements and commercial fleet operations.
