Come join our growing team at Oxford Machine & Welding Ltd! We are currently seeking an experienced candidate to fill the role of Junior Estimator. You will work closely under the guidance of our Sales/Estimating Manager to assist with customer inquiries and help grow our business. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop essential skills in steel fabrication estimating and project management. To excel in this role, you will leverage your eagerness to learn, sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills to master our fabrication workflows and drive project accuracy.

Duties

· Prepare accurate and competitive estimates within set deadlines

· Review 2D drawings, 3D models and customer specifications to determine material and labour costs with precision and attention to detail

· Collaborate with shop and office personnel to gather critical information during bidding process

· Source and compare supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing

· Maintain organized project and estimating files

· Greet and help walk-in customers





· Provide administrative support to the estimating and sales workflow (data entry, filing, etc.)

Skills & Experience

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Telephone/email etiquette and customer service skills

· Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings (blueprint reading)

· Solid attention to detail and accuracy while managing conflicting priorities

· Personable with excellent English verbal and written communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

· Previous estimating experience is considered an asset but is not required

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
