Job Description Role: Safety Specialist (TS) – Intermediate or Senior

Duration: 12 months

Location: Rabbit Lake, SK

Work Schedule: 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out, 11 hours per day

Rate: Up to $60/T4

Key Responsibilities:

The safety specialist ensures that construction activities comply with Cameco’s safety, health, setting and quality (SHEQ) requirements and monitors daily activities to identify hazardous conditions and implement safe work procedures.

• Work closely with the construction management team (CMT) and contractors.

• Responsible for ensuring all safety, health and environmental procedures and work instructions are followed.

• Conduct workplace inspections with CMT, focusing on behavioural observations.

• Review field-level risk assessments (FLRAs) and daily contact cards for quality adherence.





• May conduct and monitor SHEQ-related training for construction management team (CMT) personnel and contractors and assess qualifications of construction contractor personnel.

• Participate in job hazard assessments, safety meetings, toolbox meetings, constructability reviews and project kick-off meetings upon request.

• Conduct daily and weekly job site inspections as per procedure.

• Identify and review various health and safety concerns specific to the work site.

• Investigate injuries, accidents and near misses as per site corrective action processes.

• Ensure timely notification of significant events.

• Monitor the quality of incident investigations and ensure effective and appropriate corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
