Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their Calgary team on a contract basis for November. This role will support day-to-day accounting activities and assist with the implementation of QuickBooks Online Advanced, with a focus on data migration, reconciliations, and system setup.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and validate financial data for import into QuickBooks Online Advanced.
- Complete bank, account, and subledger reconciliations ahead of system conversion.
- Enter and verify accounting data from the existing system, maintaining accurate records throughout migration.
- Support trial conversions and testing to identify and resolve data issues.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll journals, and general ledger activities.
- Support the first month-end close in the recent system, reviewing transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Provide recommendations on QuickBooks setup and accounting workflows based on previous experience.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on data preparation, testing, and accounting follow-up.

Requirements:

- Previous bookkeeping or accounting technician experience with strong full-cycle accounting knowledge.
- Experience with QuickBooks migration, implementation, or system setup.
- Strong knowledge of account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Experience with payroll entries and journal processing in a Canadian business environment.
- Construction accounting experience, including project-based or departmental tracking, is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and accurate data entry, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
