Job Overview

- We are seeking a knowledgeable and supportive High School English/Math Tutor to help students strengthen academic skills, build confidence, and make progress toward their learning goals.
- Provide individualized or small-group instruction in English, mathematics, or both, adapting explanations and practice activities to each student’s needs and learning style.
- Create a welcoming, encouraging learning environment that supports student engagement and steady improvement.

Responsibilities

- Assess students’ understanding of English and math concepts and identify areas for additional practice.
- Plan and deliver tutoring sessions aligned with students’ coursework, assignments, and academic goals.
- Support English skills such as reading comprehension, grammar, essay development, and writing skills.
- Explain high school math concepts, guide students through problem-solving strategies, and reinforce foundational skills.
- Help students develop effective study habits, organization, and independent learning strategies.
- Track student progress and share clear,



constructive feedback with students and, when appropriate, families or educators.
- Use patient, age-appropriate communication and adapt instruction to different learning needs.
- Maintain a respectful, focused, and supportive tutoring environment.

Experience

- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or classroom experience is preferred.
- Experience working with children, particularly high school students, is an asset.
- Strong English communication skills and the ability to explain academic concepts clearly are required.
- Strong writing and subject knowledge in English, mathematics, or both are preferred.
- Additional language skills in Mandarin, French, Spanish, or Japanese are welcome and may help support multilingual learners.
- Applicants should be dependable, organized, patient, and able to build positive relationships with students.

Pay: $17.93-$25.00 per hour
