Job Summary

- We are seeking a skilled Oil Burner Mechanic to install, inspect, maintain, and repair oil-fired heating systems and related equipment.
- The role involves diagnosing mechanical and heating issues, completing repairs safely, and helping ensure boilers and other heating appliances operate reliably.
- This is a hands-on position suited to someone with strong mechanical knowledge, careful troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

- Inspect, service, and repair oil burners, boilers, heating systems, and related components.
- Diagnose equipment problems using observation, testing tools, and schematics; explain findings and recommended repairs clearly.
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, adjustments, and checks of system operation and safety.
- Install or replace heating equipment and components, following applicable codes, manufacturer instructions, and workplace safety practices.
- Complete related plumbing work and assist with equipment setup or repairs as needed.
- Use hand and power tools safely; perform basic fabrication or welding tasks when appropriate to the work.




- Maintain accurate records of inspections, service performed, parts used, and follow-up needs.
- Keep work areas and tools organized and communicate promptly about safety concerns or additional repair needs.

Experience

- Prior mechanic experience or experience servicing oil burners, boilers, or other heating equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, equipment troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance is highly valued.
- Experience with appliance repair, plumbing, or construction is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics is preferred.
- Welding experience and comfort using common mechanical tools are beneficial.

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
