Commercial Cleaner / General Labourer

Nova Staffing is seeking reliable and hardworking individuals for a Commercial Cleaner / General Labourer position in Summerside, PEI. This role involves working in a food processing workplace, performing deep cleaning and sanitation duties to help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient production facility.

This is a physically demanding position in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be comfortable working in hot, greasy, wet, and dirty conditions and be willing to perform labour-intensive work throughout their shift.

This position operates on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, with shifts typically running from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. While most shifts follow these hours, occasional variations in start and finish times may occur based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

- Perform deep cleaning and sanitation of food processing and production areas
- Clean and sanitize machinery, processing equipment, floors, walls, drains, and work surfaces
- Remove grease, debris, and product buildup from equipment and production areas
- Use cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment safely and effectively
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures




- Assist with general labour tasks as required
- Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the facility
- Complete other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including both days and nights
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced food processing environment
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working in hot, greasy, wet, and dirty conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous industrial cleaning, sanitation, manufacturing, food processing, or general labour experience is considered an asset

Required PPE

- CSA-approved steel-toe boots (mandatory)
