Colonial Countertops is looking for an experienced Stone Fabricator who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship and producing high-quality finished work.

In this hands-on position, you will transform raw stone slabs into custom countertops, fireplaces and other finished pieces. You will work from fabrication drawings and templates, using specialized tools and equipment to cut, shape, polish and finish natural stone and engineered quartz.

What You’ll Do

- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, templates, measurements and project specifications.
- Cut, shape and assemble stone using saws, grinders, polishers, CNC equipment and other specialized tools.
- Create edge profiles, including eased, bevelled and bullnose finishes.
- Fabricate and glue seams, including mitred 45-degree edges and joints.
- Produce custom pieces for unique designs, layouts and site conditions.
- Polish stone surfaces to achieve the required finish and texture.
- Hone, refinish and repair polished surfaces to correct imperfections.
- Inspect completed pieces for dimensions, finish quality and overall workmanship.
- Identify and report material defects, measurement concerns or fabrication issues.
- Safely move stone using overhead cranes and vacuum lifting equipment.
- Maintain tools and equipment and report maintenance or repair needs.
- Keep the fabrication area clean, organized and safe.
- Work closely with production employees, programmers and installers to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
- Support the team with other shop and production duties when required.

What We’re Looking For

- Previous experience in stone fabrication, countertop manufacturing or a related trade.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret drawings, templates and measurements.




- Experience using hand tools, power tools and stone-fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of polishing, edge profiling, seam preparation and mitred fabrication.
- Strong basic mathematics and measurement skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a production team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and safely lift up to 100 lbs.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.

Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding shop position involving stone slabs, industrial machinery, power tools, overhead cranes, noise, dust and wet work areas. The role requires prolonged standing, bending, lifting and repetitive movement. Required personal protective equipment must be worn, and all equipment-specific and shop safety procedures must be followed.
