Summary Description: All personnel at I-Cubed and Southport are required to work hard, enjoy their work and be good at what they do. The Machine Operator / General Labourer is responsible for setting up and operating production machinery and for performing a broad range of general labour tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Setting up and operating production machinery
- Maintaining and cleaning machines before and after use
- Delivering raw materials to machine operators
- Transporting production parts from one operation to the next
- Providing relevant information regarding progress to supervisors
- Assisting with shipping, receiving and storekeeping and using a variety of tools and machines such as forklifts and manual material handling equipment
- Maintaining the shop areas in a clean, safe and organized manner
- Assisting in waste collection, disposal and recycling activities
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple production schedules
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Conscientious, reliable self-starter
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Licensed forklift, crane and rigging operator preferred
- Physical strength, good co-ordination and endurance (lifting to 20 kgs unassisted)
- Adaptable to various working conditions such as noise, dirt, damp
- Time management skills
- Valuable communication skills
- 2 years’ work experience
