Job Overview Afro Kitchen NL Ltd is a growing African restaurant in Calgary known for authentic West African cuisine and warm hospitality. We are looking for a skilled and reliable Cook who is passionate about food and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to Afro Kitchen NL recipes and standards

- Cook a variety of West African dishes and continental meals :

- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times

- Follow AHS food safety and sanitation guidelines :

- Assist with food preparation, portioning, and inventory management

- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service

- Assist with opening, closing, and daily kitchen duties

Requirements :

- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen
- Ability to cook West African dishes (preferred)




- Strong commitment to hygiene and Alberta Health Services (AHS) food safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies
- Legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Nigerian or West African cuisine
- Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain)
