Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team at Bienvenidos Latin Market, a Latin grocery and prepared-foods business. This role focuses on preparing and cooking Latin and Mexican dishes such as empanadas, burritos, fillings, meats and sauces.

This is a kitchen based, prep-forward role in a market environment (not a full-service restaurant). Weekend availability is required, as weekends are a key part of our operations.

Duties

- Prepare ingredients and perform food prep according to established recipes and standards
- Cook and assemble Latin/Mexican food items (e.g., empanadas, fillings, meats, sauces) with consistency and care
- Assist with meal assembly, portioning, packaging, and labeling for takeout and retail sale
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures to prevent contamination




- Support the kitchen team during busy production periods with effective prep and cooking
- Assist with basic inventory awareness and restocking of supplies as needed
- From time to time, prepare and cook special food items for weekends or featured menu offerings

Skills

- Experience as a line cook, prep cook, or kitchen assistant in a restaurant, catering, or food production environment
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and work consistently with batch preparation
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Availability to work weekends on a regular basis (required)
- Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work efficiently during busy periods

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 32 per week
