Lead Software Developer - API & Integration (AWS) : Digital Core B2B | Toronto (Hybrid)

- Join BMO’s Digital Core B2B API & Integration team and help design the platforms that enable seamless, secure, and scalable digital interactions across our ecosystem. We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in building modern cloud-native solutions and mentoring high-performing teams.

What You’ll Do :

- Lead and mentor a team of developers delivering enterprise-grade API and integration solutions
- Drive best practices across architecture, coding, security, and performance
- Partner with architects, product teams, and stakeholders to shape solutions and roadmap
- Champion DevOps culture with CI/CD, automation, and observability
- Conduct code reviews and elevate engineering quality across the team
- Continuously improve systems, processes, and developer productivity
- Explore and adopt emerging technologies to enhance solutions

What You Bring :

- 5+ years building APIs and integration solutions (REST/SOAP)
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, etc.)
- 3+ years leading developers and driving technical delivery
- Strong development experience with Node.js and/or Java
- Solid understanding of API security (OAuth, SSL/TLS)
- Experience with API tooling (Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, API Connect)
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, Bamboo, JIRA)
- Knowledge of modern software development practices (SDLC, testing, release management)
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases

Salary : $75,900.00 - $141,900.00

Pay Type : Salaried

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
