Portfolio Management Specialist: Wealth Management Technology Canada (WMTC) | Toronto, ON

About the Opportunity Join one of the largest transformation programs within Wealth Management Technology Canada. The team is reimagining the end-to-end portfolio management experience used by advisors, modernizing legacy platforms, simplifying workflows, and leveraging AI-enabled delivery practices to accelerate innovation.

This is not a traditional role. The ideal candidate brings deep portfolio management domain expertise and can bridge business strategy, product vision, and technology delivery. You'll play a key role in defining the future state of portfolio management capabilities and helping shape how wealth management technology evolves over the coming years. Domain expertise in portfolio management is the most important qualification for success in this role.

What You'll Do: Portfolio Management Subject Matter Leadership Define future-state portfolio management capabilities and workflows. Act as a trusted advisor on portfolio management best practices and industry trends. Provide expertise on portfolio construction, modeling, rebalancing, risk management, performance measurement, and investment operations. Evaluate current-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Product Ownership & Strategy Partner with business stakeholders to establish product vision and priorities. Help define strategic roadmaps and target-state capabilities. Drive decisions around portfolio management platform modernization. Validate that delivered solutions align with business objectives.

Business Analysis & Requirements Leadership Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements. Translate complex business needs into detailed specifications.



Conduct process analysis and identify capability gaps. Support data analysis, system integration, and downstream reporting requirements.

AI-Enabled Delivery Partner with development teams using AI-assisted delivery practices. Create detailed requirements, specifications, goals, and tasks that can be leveraged by AI-powered development tools. Review and validate proposed solutions generated through AI-assisted workflows. Collaborate closely with architects, developers, and quality engineering teams.

Stakeholder Management Work across technology, operations, product, and business teams. Present recommendations and solution options to leadership and stakeholders. Facilitate workshops, discussions, and decision-making sessions. Drive alignment across multiple teams and workstreams.

Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience within Portfolio Management, Investment Management, or Wealth Management Technology environments. Deep understanding of portfolio management lifecycle, processes, and data flows. Experience supporting or leading large-scale platform transformations. Solid requirements gathering and documentation skills. Product ownership or product strategy experience. Ability to work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with portfolio performance calculations and reporting. Understanding of security reference data, market pricing, transactions, positions, and investment accounting concepts. Exposure to software delivery within large enterprise environments. Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot or Claude. Technical knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, API-driven architecture, or Apache Kafka. CFA designation or equivalent investment management education.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toronto, ON.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100.00 - $120.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Workplace Type This is a hybrid position in Toronto,ON.
