We are a family in Calgary looking for an experienced, reliable and caring nanny to provide overnight care for our newborn daughter. We are looking to hire as soon as possible and would ideally like someone available for several overnight shifts per week. Typical shifts would be approximately 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., although we can be somewhat flexible with hours and nights depending on availability. The primary responsibility will be caring for our newborn throughout the night so that we can get some uninterrupted sleep. Responsibilities would include:
• Feeding our baby expressed breast milk by bottle when needed
• Burping and changing diapers
• Soothing her when she cries and helping her return to sleep
• Following protected newborn sleep practices
• Monitoring her throughout the night and responding when she wakes
• Washing/sterilizing bottles and other feeding items used during the shift
• Bringing the baby to mom for breastfeeding if required, and then taking over burping,



changing and settling her afterward We are primarily looking for newborn care rather than general housekeeping. Any light household duties would only be baby-related. The ideal candidate will have significant experience caring for newborns, preferably including overnight newborn care. Infant CPR/First Aid training is strongly preferred, along with references from families with newborns. A current police/vulnerable-sector check would also be preferred. We are offering $22.50/hour, with the possibility of ongoing regular overnight work for the right person.
