Hi there I am a single father with full time custody of my two independent and chill kids (ages 10 and 11). They currently attend full-time before and after-school daycare, but I am looking to build a relationship with a reliable, trustworthy caregiver for intermittent, backup care when their regular routines are disrupted. Because the kids are older, this is a relatively laid-back position focused on light supervision, meal prep, and keeping them company in our home. When I need you:
• School & Daycare Closures: Planned professional development (PD) days, storm days, and holiday closures.
• Sick Days: On-call care during weekdays when a child is under the weather and cannot attend school or daycare.
• Occasional Evenings/Weekends: Advance notice provided for the occasional personal or work event.
Requirements:
• Must be located in or able to reliably travel to Shediac, NB.
• Prior experience caring for primary school-aged children.
• Comfortable with sick care (distributing fluid/rest, monitoring symptoms).
• First Aid & CPR certification is highly preferred.
• Reliable, clear communicator who can let me know their availability quickly. Ideal Candidate: This position is perfect for a responsible university student with a flexible schedule, an Educational Assistant (EA) looking for supplementary income on school holidays, or a local casual sitter looking for flexible hours. Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and availability. If you are interested in being our go-to backup caregiver, please send me a message with a bit about your experience, your general availability, and your hourly rate.
