Hello We're a family based in the Millrise community of Southwest Calgary, Alberta, currently seeking an occasional part time, live-out nanny to help us out. I am one of the grandparents who every other week comes to my son's house to get my grandson up, makes him a breakfast and lunch, and get him out the door on time to walk to his bus. We then go back to the house to be there for him when he gets back home until his Dad gets home from work. Our grandson is 11 year old and in Grade 6 and has mild autism traits that result in subtle social, communication and learning challenges. One would barely notice it as he has had additional support since he was 3 years old. We plan to be away for a month beginning the middle of October and are looking for someone who can be at my son's apartment every other week beginning from 6:30 to 8:30 am and then again from about 4:10 to 4:40 pm. My single son also has a small dog who he feeds before he goes to work but we usually give him a quick 10 minute walk after our grandson is out the door in the morning. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children in this age group and possess a warm, nurturing nature, but also comfortable dealing with a preteen 11 year old going on 14 who is very determined to be independent.



Initially we will need this help beginning Thursday October 15, then Friday October 16, the Monday through Friday the week of October 26, and finally Monday through Friday the week of November 9th. My grandson stays with his Mom, who lives a few blocks away, every other week and his other grandma is there for him on those weeks. We hope to build a positive, long-term relationship with a caregiver whom my wife and I, our son, and our grandson will truly appreciate. We anticipate that we will also need this kind of help in the near future as we have two sons who we often visit on the west coast.
