Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading daily kitchen operations. This hands-on role combines food preparation and cooking with team supervision, service coordination, and a strong commitment to food safety. The ideal candidate brings a collaborative leadership style and thrives in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist the Head Chef with planning and coordinating kitchen operations, menus, and service.
- Prepare and cook dishes to established recipes and quality standards.
- Oversee food preparation, portioning, plating, and timely delivery during service.
- Supervise kitchen staff, assign tasks, and help maintain an organized, productive team.
- Support team management through coaching, clear communication, and a professional example.
- Follow food handling, sanitation, allergen-awareness, and food safety procedures.
- Monitor ingredient quality, storage, and kitchen cleanliness; report supply or equipment needs.




- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to support smooth food service and a positive guest experience.
- Assist with restaurant management duties as needed, including opening or closing procedures.
- Where applicable, support serving or bartending operations during busy periods.

Experience

- Previous kitchen experience in a restaurant, hospitality setting, or the broader food industry.
- Demonstrated cooking and food preparation skills, with a sound understanding of food safety and proper food handling.
- Supervising experience or other leadership experience; team management skills are strongly valued.
- Food service experience and familiarity with restaurant operations.
- Bartending or serving experience is helpful but not required.
- Solid organization, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain composed during busy service.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
