Hi all We are looking for a reliable and kind liveout nanny to join our family part time for a week in November (roughly November 21-28). We are also looking for someone who can work with our family part time in February 2027, after the arrival of our second child.
About us
We are a downtown family with a very energetic 2-year old son. We also have a quiet/shy dog who is 11 years old. We live in an apartment that can feel busy, and have an active lifestyle where both parents work full time. Our son is currently in daycare during the week from 9-5. Our family will be growing in the new year when we'll be expecting our second child. About the position in November 2026: We're looking for someone who can come help mom in the evenings and during the weekend with our 2-year old son. We're looking for all-around family support with things like cooking dinner, daycare pickups or park play (either with or without mom), helping with bedtime or bath routine, and other light household chores (e.g. dishes, tidying common areas, retrieving or folding laundry). We may occasionally need help to grab groceries. The most key thing for our family is someone who is kind, enjoys interacting with toddlers, and is flexible to help out mom for a week with childcare and household needs as they arise. Hours/days can be discussed based on your availability. An example schedule could be Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5pm-8pm, Saturday & Sunday 2pm-8pm. About the position in February 2027 (on going part time): If you think you might also be interested in continuing with our family in February 2027, we'd require someone who has experience taking care of newborns (eg. 1-2 months old).
You'd mostly be supporting mom at home with household chores (e.g. childrens laundry, dishes, meal prep, tidying) and supporting newborn care (e.g. feeding, burping, naps). Other responsibilities could include taking our newborn for walks, caring for our newborn when mom runs short errands outside the home, or when we are spending time with our toddler (after daycare hours only). We may occasionally need help to grab groceries, or take our dog for a short walk. This role would be ~12 hours per week, with a mix of afternoons and/or early evenings during the weekdays, split across 3 days. The specific schedule can be discussed based on your availability. Overall, we're looking for someone who is:
- Comfortable doing light household chores and meal prep
- Experience working with toddlers
- Direct experience taking care of newborns *Only required if interested in continuing part-time with us in February 2027*
- Has infant CPR and first aid certification
- Comfortable with dogs
- References from past families you've worked with Nice to have (not required):
- Can speak French and/or Cantonese with our children Please send us a short message about yourself and your experience with toddlers and/or newborns, including the ages of the infants you've cared for, and how long you worked with each family. We understand amazing nannies may not have all the above qualifications, so if you're a close enough fit, we would love to hear from you Please visit https://canadiannanny.ca/jobs/experienced-nanny-wanted-in-toronto-30hour-join-a-loving-family-and-make-difference-childcare-canadian-job-on to view full details and to apply.
