About Us
and Our Needs: Hello, my name is Sarah, mother to two wonderful, young children. My son is 5.5 and daughter is 1.5. I live with my husband in Calgary (Mount Pleasant in the NW). Our current nanny is away for 6 weeks between December 7, 2026 and January 22, 2027, so we just need a short-term replacement. We're looking for a live-out nanny to start December 7th and provide daytime care to our 1.5 year old daughter 5 days per week for 8-9 hours per day (8am to 4 or 5pm). My son will be in school during the day. Ability to babysit occasionally after the short term job ends in January is a plus. Our ideal nanny would be a caring, nurturing, playful, outdoorsy and reliable person who is willing to engage and challenge our daughter with activities indoors and outdoors, and keep our house clean and tidy when she is napping. I work from home half the week and my husband is occasionally at home working as well so we are searching for the right nanny to provide care and enable me and my husband to see and play with our daughter periodically through the day while allowing us to work in our home offices. Skills and
Requirements:
- Ideally would have 5 years or more of experience as a nanny to toddlers. At least 1 year is required.
- Ability to transport yourself to and from our home in Mount Pleasant (NW)
- Be able to take our daughter outside to play in nearby parks twice daily or to the bi-weekly neighborhood play group or nearby library, as she is quite active and loves to be out doing things
- Must not smoke and ideally will have this year's flu shot.
Responsibilities:
- Indoor and outdoor play (including outdoor walks and playgrounds at least once per day in nearby parks e.g., Confederation Park, which is just a few mins walk away)
- Feeding (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack) and cleanup. Meals will generally be prepared by us in advance and ready in the fridge for you to assemble or warm up. Occasional simple cooking for baby may be requested.
- Napping (our daughter naps once per day, usually for 1.5 hours)
- Hygiene and care (e.g., diaper changes, clothing changes, cleanup after meals, bathing if required, etc.)
- Potty training support (she is just starting this)
- Light household chores when not caring for baby (e.g., when she's napping or with us, keep busy by tidying toys and general household cleaning like wiping surfaces, dish washing, wiping / mopping / vacuuming floors after baby's meals, laundry racking and folding, taking out the garbage, etc.) Depending on our work schedules, some days my husband or I may want to spend some extra time with our daughter, e.g., feeding or playing with her, taking her for walks, etc. When this is the case and when he is sleeping, we ask that you spend the time doing light housekeeping as described above. How to Connect and Next Steps: Please message me via this website and let me know a little about yourself. I'd be happy to have a phone conversation and if it seems like a good fit mutually, we'd like to meet you in person to make sure the arrangement will work for both parties.
