This Engineering Technician supports production, quality assurance, and research and development for current products and new product introduction. The work includes measuring optical devices, preparing experiments, and documenting results with computerized test systems. VIAVI develops network test, monitoring, and assurance solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical measurements on optical devices using laboratory tools
- Set up oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power supplies
- Configure fiber optic cables and connectors for testing
- Generate test reports and graphs using computer software
- Calibrate equipment and maintain laboratory work areas
Requirements:
- Electrical Technologist diploma or equivalent qualification
- Basic knowledge of electrical schematics and soldering
- Basic knowledge of fiber optics and test equipment
- Experience with hand tools and computer software applications
- Robust organization, communication, and documentation skills
