Schedule: 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday (includes half hour unpaid break)

Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): $21.79 per hour

As a Cook, you will prepare meals and snacks for children, ensuring food is safe, healthy, and enjoyable. You will maintain a clean and organized kitchen, support daily centre operations, and occasionally assist in classrooms or sleep rooms. While duties may vary slightly from centre to centre, your contributions will directly impact the well-being of the children in your care.

Previous experience in food preparation and kitchen operations an asset

Knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide and secure food handling practices

Passion for creating healthy meals for children and contributing to their well-being





Lifting up to 25 lbs and standing 80% of shifts to perform cooking, preparation and cleaning responsibilities

Valid Food Handler’s Certificate

Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)

Prepare morning and afternoon snacks and mid-day meals for children

Follow and post pre-planned menus based on Canada’s Food Guide.

Check allergy and food restriction lists carefully and adjust meals accordingly.

Clean and sanitize the kitchen and dishes throughout the day.

Prepare grocery lists and prepare orders weekly, receive and store items safely according to Public Health guidelines.
