ResMed seeks a Software Engineer to join its Halifax team building a healthcare communications platform. You'll develop production web services, expand platform capabilities beyond email and SMS, and contribute across the full software lifecycle while modernizing existing systems.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain production web services powering the communications platform

Develop current platform capabilities expanding into additional channels and experiences

Contribute to coding, system design, and architectural decisions

Modernize existing services and reduce technical debt to meet engineering standards

Own work across development lifecycle including testing, deployment, and production support

Requirements

- 4+ years professional software development experience




- Expert-level Java with strong object-oriented design and clean code principles
- Extensive AWS services and serverless technologies experience (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3)
- Hands-on NoSQL and relational database experience (DynamoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Strong RESTful API design, OAuth2/JWT, and microservices architecture knowledge
- Track record mentoring engineers and supporting software through testing and production
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, message brokers (SQS, SNS), or event-driven architectures
