Cleaning Operative – Hastings/Bexhill

Location: Hastings, covering Hastings and Bexhill
Pay Rate: 15 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (35 hours per week)
Contract: Temporary, 6 weeks

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Temporary Cleaning Operative to join a busy and supportive team covering sites across Hastings and Bexhill. This is a mobile role, starting and finishing at the Hastings base, with travel to various locations throughout the working day. Applicants must live locally and hold a valid driving licence.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out general cleaning duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Clean communal areas, kitchens, toilets, bathrooms, showers and other facilities.
- Use cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain clean,



safe and welcoming environments across multiple sites.
- Undertake challenging cleaning tasks when required, including the removal of human or animal faeces, dog waste and areas affected by urine, following approved procedures and safety guidance.

Requirements

- Previous cleaning experience is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- A full, valid driving licence is essential.
- Must live in or around the Hastings/Bexhill area.
- A reliable, versatile and positive approach to work.
- Physically able to undertake cleaning duties and manual handling where required.
- Willingness to carry out all aspects of the role, including challenging cleaning tasks.

Working Pattern

- Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm.
- 35 hours per week.
- Six-week temporary assignment.
- Mobile working across various sites, starting and finishing in Hastings.
