Our client, a publicly listed metals and manufacturing company with global operations, is seeking an Interim Accountant for an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who can step in and support day-to-day accounting operations, full-cycle accounting activities, and period-end close processes. The successful candidate will also contribute to an SAP S/4HANA integration project involving multiple legal entities.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office

Duration: 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension

Responsibilities

- Manage and support full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations and accruals.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial records.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies and resolve outstanding accounting issues.
- Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis and the preparation of supporting schedules.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial transactions.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing working papers, reconciliations and relevant documentation.
- Assist with the integration of multiple legal entities into SAP S/4HANA.
- Support accounting data migration,



validation and reconciliation as part of the SAP integration.
- Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to address accounting issues and meet reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and month-end close.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations and accruals.
- Hands-on experience with SAP; exposure to SAP S/4HANA is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting financial reporting and period-end close activities.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, metals, mining or another complex, multi-entity environment is an asset.
- Experience with ERP implementations, system integrations or accounting data migration is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of accounting activities and deliver accurate results in a deadline-driven environment.

A CPA/CA designation is an asset but not required . We welcome experienced, hands-on accounting professionals with solid full-cycle accounting skills. Interested?
