Overview

Kafrit NA Ltd is a producer of plastic resin used for Crosslinked Polyethylene (PEX), which is a common material used in drinking water pipe. Kafrit is actively working to diversify our production capabilities into other plastics manufacturing opportunities. We are currently looking for a new Accountant to join our team at our facility in the Gloucester Industrial Park (Langley, BC).

Reporting to the President, you will support financial operations through a diverse role covering month-end reporting, receivables and payables, employee benefits, and audit support. We endeavor to provide supplemental training and knowledge for our staff such as theory on plastics and other polymers, machine efficiency, and lean manufacturing principles.

Safety is one of our key principles at Kafrit. We have an active Safety culture that involves regular training, consistent audits and inspections, and worker input and feedback for improvement. We have not had a workplace injury in over two and a half years.

Kafrit NA is a small company that has a large impact in the North American market and beyond. We aim to develop our staff and promote from within as much as possible. Staff that started in this position have moved into technical positions in our Lab, Maintenance positions, and Senior Management positions. Due to our culture and performance, the average time of employment for staff at Kafrit NA is over 9 years.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoice processing, payments, cash application, and aging reviews
- Administer employee benefits programs and provide backup for payroll
- Prepare and complete GST returns




- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
- Prepare supporting documentation and assist with internal and external audits
- Assist with preparation of annual operating budget
- Communicate with head office on financial matters, reporting requirements, and information requests
- Assist with special projects as required
- Provide administrative support and assist with other duties as required

Qualifications & Experience

- Relevant post-secondary education in Accounting
- At least three years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- A CPA designation, or progress toward one, is preferred
- Experience with ERP software, is preferred (Sage 300 is used at Kafrit NA)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Sound business and financial judgment, with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- The ability to work across departments
- Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities
- Reliable transportation, as public transit access to the area is limited

The base salary is the target range for new hires. Starting salary will reflect job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Benefits, RRSP matching, and performance incentives are additional to base salary. Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
