Description:

Reporting to the Senior Business Partner - Human Resources, the incumbent of the Advisor – Health, Safety and Wellness position is responsible for providing guidance, coaching and necessary support to fulfil the client group mandates entrusted to them. The incumbent acts as a partner to managers by providing HR advice, solutions and services adapted to the City’s issues and challenges while being aligned with the strategic vision.

General responsibilities and goals:

- Establish a proactive and flexible business relationship with managers to fully understand their health, safety and wellness issues and challenges within their departments.
- Support managers in the application of human resources policies, procedures, programs and directives and conduct the necessary follow-ups.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the City’s lockout/tagout program, ensuring regulatory compliance, employee training, and the consistent application of safe work procedures
- Develop action plans and propose awareness tools for the prevention of work-related accidents for managers to help them fulfil their responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations,



standards and legislation.
- Focus on the continuous improvement of initiatives to ensure the protection and well-being of employees.
- Prepare files to be submitted to various authorities and committees, such as CNESST, TAT, occupational health and safety committees.
- Support managers in prevention activities such as risk identification, workplace inspections, accident investigations and analyses, and provide recommendations to address root causes;
- As needed, coordinate and monitor medical and administrative follow-ups (temporary assignments, rehabilitation, etc.) with the various stakeholders involved.
- Analyze accident statistics to identify trends and problem areas, and develop appropriate corrective and preventive solutions;
- Participate in identifying OHS training needs.
- Keep abreast of best practices in the field.
- Participate actively in various committees.
- Perform all other related tasks.

Job requirements: The incumbent must have a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, industrial relations or another relevant field. Holding the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation will be considered an asset. A minimum of three to five years of experience in a similar position is mandatory.

The position requires a good knowledge of French and English to carry on a conversation, lead a workshop, participate in a work meeting, and write short texts or internal reports. The incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of adaptability, autonomy and team spirit.

Schedule:

35 hours per week Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., minus 45 minutes for lunch, Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon.
