About Oakbank Animal Hospital

Oakbank Animal Hospital has been serving the pets and people of the Rural Municipality of Springfield and surrounding communities for more than 30 years. Established in 1988, our hospital has built strong, lasting relationships with generations of clients and their pets.
We are a primarily companion animal practice, with a diverse caseload that includes dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, pocket pets, equine, and hobby farm animals. Our team works together to provide comprehensive care and continuity for our clients and patients.

You’ll work alongside an experienced team of veterinarians, registered veterinary technologists, veterinary assistants, receptionists, and practice leadership who are committed to providing excellent patient care.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a self-motivated and dedicated RVT who enjoys working as part of a team and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families.

In This Role, You’ll Have The Opportunity To

- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients throughout their visits and hospital stays.
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery.
- Perform laboratory testing and assist with diagnostic imaging.
- Support dental procedures, including preparation, monitoring, and recovery.
- Monitor hospitalized patients and recognize changes in their condition.
- Educate clients on preventative care, treatments, medications, and at-home care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure equipment and treatment areas are clean and organized.
- Work with a diverse caseload, including small animals and opportunities for exposure to equine and hobby farm animals.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and the wider hospital team to deliver excellent patient care.





What You’ll Bring

We’re Looking For An RVT Who

- Is registered, or eligible for registration, with the Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA).
- Is passionate about veterinary medicine and providing excellent patient care.
- Brings enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude.
- Values teamwork and collaboration.
- Has strong communication skills with both clients and colleagues.
- Enjoys client education and building long-term relationships.
- Is organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a busy clinical environment.
- Is eager to continue learning and developing their technical skills.
- Has an interest in or experience with equine and large animal medicine, which would be an asset.
