Discovery Community College (DCC) is expanding its Health Sciences programming and is currently building its faculty team for a future Medical Laboratory Assistant program.

We are seeking a Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) or experienced Cardiology Technologist who is interested in contributing to program development, accreditation preparation, and future instructional delivery.

Position Type

Responsibilities

- Provide subject matter expertise during program development
- Support curriculum review and accreditation readiness activities
- Collaborate with DCC faculty and leadership on program planning
- Deliver instruction, demonstrations, and student support once the program launches
- Assist with practical and laboratory learning activities as required
- Prepare patients for cardiovascular tests and procedures by explaining the process, confirming relevant information,



and positioning them appropriately.
- Perform diagnostic examinations such as electrocardiograms, stress tests, and other cardiovascular studies within your training and scope of practice.
- Set up, operate, and maintain cardiovascular equipment; identify and report equipment issues.
- Monitor students performances during testing.
- Follow infection prevention, patient privacy, safety, and clinical documentation protocols.
- Coordinate with other instructors as a team to deliver superb instruction so students can deliver sufficient test results upon course completion.
- Maintain a clean, organized testing area and ensure supplies are available.

Qualifications

- Relevant education or training in cardiovascular technology, diagnostic medical sonography, or a related clinical field.
- Current professional certification or eligibility for certification, as required by the employer and applicable regulations.
- Familiarity with cardiovascular diagnostic procedures and clinical equipment.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to document clinical information accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to follow established clinical protocols.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare setting and respond appropriately to changing needs.

Pay: $42.00-$50.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 – 25.0 per week
