Home Healthcare Products and Funding

About us

Assist Health Supplies provides mobility equipment, home healthcare supplies, and daily living solutions across Alberta. We put solutions first, taking the time to understand each guest’s needs and goals so we can help them move forward with confidence and independence. Our team takes pride in earning the trust of our guests and community partners through knowledgeable guidance, compassionate care, and follow-through they can count on.

We’re looking for a Daily Living Solutions Consultant who shares our commitment to putting people and solutions first. You’ll bring compassion, dependability, and strong organizational skills to our Calgary team, creating a welcoming, discreet experience where guests feel comfortable discussing their needs and finding the right products.

About the role

This position combines retail sales, guest service, and detailed administrative work. Your primary focus will be soft goods, including wound care supplies, incontinence products, ostomy supplies, catheters, compression products, bathing aids, and daily living aids.

You’ll also develop general knowledge of our showroom offerings so you can assist visitors and connect them with the appropriate team member.

You’ll help guests in person, by phone, and by email. Some need products during their visit. Others need recurring orders prepared for delivery. You’ll guide them through product options, required documentation, funding coverage, and payment, while keeping their order moving through our internal workflow.

As you develop expertise in the role, you will be expected to take a proactive approach to business growth by identifying new opportunities, building and maintaining your guest portfolio, delivering educational initiatives, and developing strong relationships with healthcare professionals, community care partners, and vendor representatives.

You don’t need prior funding expertise. Bring strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. We’ll teach you our products, systems, and funding processes.

What you’ll do

- Welcome guests and provide calm, compassionate, and discreet service.
- Understand their needs and explain suitable products, their uses, and related options.

- Coordinate prescriptions, authorizations, or supporting documents when required.
- Refer concerns about product suitability or clinical needs to the guest’s authorizer or healthcare professional.
- Manage incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct requests to the appropriate department.
- Follow up on guest satisfaction and build lasting relationships.
- Prepare accurate sales orders in Zoho and coordinate stock checks with the warehouse.
- Complete funding eligibility checks and pre-determinations to confirm coverage and guest payment amounts.
- Collect required guest payments before scheduling delivery.
- Coordinate deliveries and help guests plan repeat orders a week before they need their supplies.
- Follow up on outstanding authorizations, funding documents, and recurring orders.
- Confirm delivery, update service dates, and hand complete records to the billing team for claim submission.
- Keep clear records of guest conversations, commitments, outstanding items, and next steps.
- Refer pricing exceptions, returns outside company policy, and guest complaints to the Branch Manager.
- Maintain an organized front desk, showroom, and soft goods area.
- Stock shelves, maintain displays, and participate in inventory counts.

Develop product knowledge of all showroom offering beyond soft goods to support guests.
- Work closely with warehouse, billing, and other team members to resolve order issues and support daily service.
- Share ideas that improve accuracy, workflows, and the guest experience.

AADL will be your main funding program, with additional orders involving ADAP, AISH, NIHB, and WCB. Based in Calgary, you’ll initially support orders for both Calgary and Medicine Hat.

What you bring

- Strong administrative and clerical skills, with attention to accuracy and follow-up.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar office software.

- Clear communication and a professional, compassionate approach to personal healthcare conversations.
- The ability to prioritize competing requests and remain calm in a busy environment.
- Practical problem-solving skills and sound judgment about when to ask for support.
- Reliability, a collaborative approach, and the ability to work independently as your knowledge grows.
- Willingness to learn and follow established funding and order processes.

Experience in retail sales, front desk service, healthcare administration, or medical supplies is an asset. Familiarity with Alberta healthcare funding programs is welcome but not required.

Training and support

You’ll report to the Branch Manager, who will lead your training plan. Scheduled sessions with product and process experts will help you learn through a team-oriented approach.

Training will cover product knowledge, funding workflows, Zoho, and the Alberta Blue Cross portal. During your first three to six months, the goal is to build your confidence in managing most funded soft goods orders from intake through billing handoff.

Our initial priorities are accurate orders, reliable follow-up, and an exceptional guest experience. As the division grows, you’ll have opportunities to contribute to service improvements, referrals, and product recommendations.

Why join us?

- Meaningful work helping people manage their daily healthcare needs.
- A supportive team and structured learning with experienced colleagues.
- $19 to $21 per hour.
- Health benefits, including a health spending account.
- Opportunities to grow with the division and help improve how we serve our guests.

Schedule and work environment The current schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Your work will combine desk duties, showroom service, and light stocking. Weekend opening hours may be introduced in the future, with notice of schedule changes.
