Financial Analyst III (Bilingual - French & English)

Location: Gatineau, QC

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Contract: 12 Months

Competitive Hourly Rate: T4-39 and INC 42

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst III to join a dynamic Finance team supporting accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting activities. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment while contributing to key financial and strategic decision-making processes.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in month-end close activities, financial analysis, regulatory support, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute month-end and year-end accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Review financial results and investigate significant variances across operational and financial metrics.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Provide financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc insights to support business decision-making.
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements, including interim and year-end audits.
- Support the preparation of regulatory filings, responses, and financial documentation.
- Research and document accounting treatments and policies in accordance with US GAAP.
- Develop and maintain financial models and analytical tools to support evolving business needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.




- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and business stakeholders on strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

- Professional Accounting Designation ( CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA ).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis.
- Fully bilingual in French and English (verbal and written).
- Strong experience with:
- Financial Reporting

- Journal Entries & Reconciliations
- Variance Analysis
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Financial Statement Preparation
- US GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

- Experience with Oracle and/or Hyperion .
- Knowledge of Federal and Quebec tax compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting regulatory reporting and compliance activities.
- Knowledge of capital management, long-term debt accounting, and dividend reporting.
- Experience performing financial modeling, project profitability analysis, and investment evaluations.
- Utility, energy, or regulated industry experience is considered an asset.
