Garage Door Technician - Service and Installation

Viking Doors Inc. provides a variety of services from repairs to installation of garage doors, docks, gates and more. Services range from planned maintenance, inspections and diagnostic services as well as repairs, retrofits and new installations for residential, commercial and industrial customers.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

- Promote a positive customer experience with a strong focus of quality service and quality product
- Provide sales recommendations that enhance safety, reliability, and longevity to our customer
- Must have a mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints and solve site issues while being safety conscious
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair damaged or worn parts and equipment
- Install all components in relation to commercial and residential docks, doors, gates and more
- Perform safety inspections and testing
- Process payments when required
- Complete documentation through field management software
- Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle
- Perform additional duties as required
- We require any candidates to hold their own hand/power tools for the job related to the trade. All specialty tools will be provided
- Must have at least two years of installation experience working with power tools, manlifts and ladders
- Installing dock levelers (Hydraulic, Air-Powered, Mechanical) - Experience not required but an asset
- Willing to train the right candidate

Qualifications & Experience:

- Valid Driver License with a Clean Driver’s record
- Bondable
- Ability to arrive to work on time and ready to perform your duties
- Ability to lift at least 75 pounds
- Basic electrical troubleshooting




- Handle stressful situations with a calm attitude and make mature decisions
- Able to pay attention to details and surroundings
- Ability to work alone or in a group setting
- Minimum 2 years overhead door experience
- Minimum 1 years Dock Levelers experience - preferred, but not required
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance

Ticketed in the following (willing to provide to the right candidate):

- First Aid w/ CPR
- Scissor Lift Training
- Fall Protection

Work Conditions:

- Field work
- Working at Heights, ladders, elevated platform lifts
- Cold weather conditions, hot weather conditions
- Overtime and shared on call schedule will be part of the position
- Good communication skills, including writing and reading in English
- Organized and able to multitask
- Ability to work independently or in a group settings
