Established in 2005, DG Global Inc. is a proudly Canadian-owned and operated leader in the agricultural industry. We are the premier exporter of containerized grains in North America, specializing in the domestic and international trade of soybeans, corn, wheat, pulses, and specialty crops.

We are seeking a high-energy Grain Originator to join our procurement team. In this role, you will be the critical link between North American farmers and our global export pipeline. You will be responsible for "pounding the pavement" (and the phones) to secure grain supplies, managing producer relationships, and ensuring our containerized export programs are fully serviced with high-quality commodities.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver a successful grain origination plans to meet long term market share objectives.

- Increase grain originations volumes, while maintaining or increasing profitability in accordance with merchandising team guidelines.

- Responsible for training and working within the grain sector HACCP guidelines.

- Execute the strategies that manage increasing competition through implementing innovative origination approaches, programs, products and services.

- Work closely with the logistics team using communication vehicles,



both internal and external, to support timely deliveries.

- Monitor and communicate shipping information, quality issues, grade differences and rejected shipments.

- Monitor and administer purchase contracts, following through the process to accurate payments to the customer upon delivery.

- Provide excellent customer service in a courteous and professional manner.

Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Degree or Diploma in Agribusiness, Agriculture, or a related Business field.

- Background: Strong roots in agriculture (e.g., farm background) is highly preferred.

- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills. You must be comfortable with "cold calling" and building rapport quickly with producers.

- Knowledge: Basic understanding of grain marketing, futures markets, and the logistics of containerized shipping is an asset.

- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a rapid-paced environment where market conditions and export schedules change rapidly.

- Travel: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel regionally to meet with producers on-site.
