Parkhill Meats Limited (Blue Lakes Premium Meats) is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR/H&S; Assistant to join our growing team!

This is an opportunity to play an important role in strengthening our Health & Safety programs while supporting HR administration and daily front desk operations.

We're looking for someone who takes initiative, has a good understanding of workplace safety, and is comfortable working with employees and leaders in a fast-paced food-processing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Health & Safety

- Take ownership of developing and completing Job Element Sheets (JES) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) from start to finish, including workplace observations, hazard identification, risk assessments, and recommended controls.
- Work closely with department leaders and employees to develop and update safety procedures.
- Support workplace inspections, incident documentation, corrective actions, and safety initiatives.
- Maintain H&S; training records, documentation, and compliance trackers.
- Assist with JHSC activities and emergency preparedness programs.

Human Resources

- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, orientations, and employee documentation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Support attendance tracking, payroll-related documentation, and general HR administration.
- Assist with employee communications and HR projects.

Front Desk & Administration

- Welcome visitors, contractors, and service providers.




- Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and coordinate visitor sign-ins.
- Maintain organized records and provide administrative support as needed.

What We're Looking For

- 2–3 years of relevant experience in Health & Safety, Human Resources, or a related role preferred, with practical H&S; experience being a key consideration.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements, including Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Experience with hazard identification, risk assessments, and workplace safety documentation.
- Ability to develop and complete Job Element Sheets (JES) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) with guidance and review from department leaders.
- Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Administration, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The following would be an asset:

- Experience in manufacturing or food processing.




- Previous HR administrative experience.
- Experience using ADP.

Pay: $24.04-$31.25 per hour
