Tutor Doctor Sudbury is looking for passionate, reliable, and knowledgeable individuals who are currently enrolled in a Concurrent Education or Teacher Education program, or who are qualified/certified teachers, to join our growing tutoring team!

We are seeking local educators who enjoy working one-on-one with students, helping them strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

Applicants must currently reside in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, have access to a reliable vehicle, and be legally authorized to work in Canada. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.

About the Role

As a tutor with Tutor Doctor Sudbury, you'll work individually with students in their homes, providing personalized academic support based on their unique needs and learning styles.

We carefully match tutors with students based on their academic expertise, qualifications, availability, location, and personality fit.

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring educators to gain valuable one-on-one teaching experience, or for certified and retired teachers looking to make a meaningful difference while enjoying a flexible schedule.

Who We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who meet one or more of the following qualifications:

- Currently enrolled in a Concurrent Education program
- Currently enrolled in Teacher's College / a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program
- Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT)
- Retired teachers or experienced educators

Ideal candidates will also demonstrate:

- Solid knowledge of the Ontario curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to adapt instruction to individual learning needs




- A genuine passion for education and helping students succeed
- Reliability, professionalism, and strong organizational skills

Subjects & Grade Levels We are seeking tutors who can provide academic support to students from Elementary through Secondary School (Kindergarten to Grade 12) across all subjects.

While we welcome educators with a variety of subject specializations, our highest-demand areas include:

- French: Core French, French Immersion, and full French-language instruction
- English & Literacy: Early literacy, reading development, reading comprehension, and writing skills
- Mathematics: Elementary, Intermediate, and Secondary Math (all levels)
- Sciences: General Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (all levels)

Tutors are matched with students based on their subject expertise, preferred grade levels, qualifications, and experience. You do not need to be comfortable teaching every subject or grade level to apply.

Requirements

- Must currently reside in Greater Sudbury, Ontario
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must have regular access to a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's licence
- Must be willing to travel to students' homes throughout Greater Sudbury
- Must provide a criminal background check (previously completed checks may be accepted)
- Must be available for in-person tutoring sessions

Job Type: Part-time, Independent Contractor Schedule: Versatile, primarily after-school hours, evenings, and weekends
