Lab Manager – CCIL Certified Aggregate Testing Laboratory

We are seeking an experienced, detail-driven Lab Manager to lead our CCIL certified Aggregate Test Lab. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will run the lab and you will also perform the full scope of materials technologist duties, in the lab and in the field. It is a rare chance to take ownership of a certified laboratory in a respected, established company, with full-time, year-round employment.

What you’ll do

Lab leadership & certification

- Manage day-to-day operations of our CCIL certified Aggregate Test Lab
- Maintain CCIL certification requirements, including proficiency testing, audits, equipment calibration and quality documentation
- Oversee lab equipment maintenance, calibration records and inventory
- Train, schedule and support lab and field testing staff
- Make sure all testing meets applicable standards, specifications and industry best practices

Technical testing & reporting

- Sample and test aggregate materials for quality control, in the lab and on site
- Prepare and review QC test result reports and material QC reporting summaries




- Identify specification issues early and work with the aggregate supervisor and field crews to correct them

Project communication

- Act as the lab’s primary point of contact for project managers, site supervisors and clients
- Provide clear, timely QC results that support project decisions and compliance

What you bring

- 3-5 years of aggregate testing / materials technologist experience (required)
- Experience leading or supervising a lab, or overseeing QC programs (preferred)
- CCIL certification (asset)
- Construction industry experience (asset)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- CSA-approved steel-toe safety footwear
- Strong organization, documentation and communication skills
- Able to work 8+ hour shifts in the lab, the office and outdoors in a range of conditions
- Physically able, without restrictions, to perform repetitive tasks

Work locations: Birds Hill/Springfield, Selkirk, Gull Lake/Alexander Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, day shift

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
