Salary Range: $25.00 To $35.00 Hourly Comox Valley Seniors Village Position: Part-Time Contract

The Hair Stylist is an independent contractor position that reports to the General Manager and/ or designate. This role is responsible for providing professional hair services to persons served in the community. Services are delivered to residents within the framework of a predominantly elderly community with diverse ethnic and cultural experiences. Cutting, trimming, and setting and coloring hair for residents according to resident/substitute decision maker’s wishes. Quickly responds to resident’s concerns about hair styling.



Helps foster and maintain a relaxed and positive salon atmosphere. Maintains a safe setting for residents, family and staff, through: accident prevention, knowledge of emergency procedures and regulations, the safe use of supplies and equipment and reporting when repairs are necessary, and utilizing infection control procedures Minimum 1 year of beauty service experience. Cosmetology or barber license an asset. Creative, artistic, and innovative. Experience working with dementia clients an asset. All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines. Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions. Basic computer skills including Word and Outlook.
