Job Overview

- The Retail Store Operations Manager oversees daily store operations, leads and develops the team, and helps deliver excellent customer service while meeting sales and operational goals.
- This hands-on role combines store management, retail management, sales management, and administrative responsibilities. The manager supports a welcoming, organized shopping environment and ensures store procedures are followed consistently.

- Candidates should bring strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to balance customer needs, team priorities, and business objectives.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are valued to help serve a diverse customer base.

Duties

- Lead, supervise, and support store employees; coordinate team management, scheduling, and daily assignments.
- Recruit candidates, conduct interviews, and assist with hiring and onboarding.
- Provide training and development, coaching, and performance feedback to build a capable, customer-focused team.

- Oversee retail sales and sales management activities, monitor store performance, and help the team meet sales goals.
- Deliver and promote excellent customer service; resolve customer concerns professionally and use sound judgment to find solutions.
- Support cashiering and ensure accurate POS transactions, cash handling, register procedures, and end-of-day reconciliation.

- Coordinate merchandising, product displays, inventory presentation, and store readiness.
- Assist with purchasing, product replenishment,



and vendor discussions, using negotiation skills where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate pricing and product information; review pricing and communicate updates to the team.

- Contribute to store marketing efforts, promotions, and sales events.
- Assist with budgeting, expense monitoring, payroll administration, and routine bookkeeping.
- Complete administrative tasks and maintain accurate operational records.

- Use math skills to review transactions, sales information, inventory counts, and basic financial records.
- Communicate clearly in person and in writing, maintain professional phone etiquette, and manage time effectively across competing priorities.

Experience

- Previous retail management, store management, or retail operations experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated supervising experience and the ability to lead, coach, and develop a team are important.

- Experience with retail sales, customer service, cashiering, POS systems, and cash handling is preferred.
- Familiarity with recruiting, interviewing, payroll, purchasing, merchandising, pricing, marketing, budgeting, or bookkeeping is an asset.
- Strong communication, negotiation, time-management, and organizational skills are required.

- Comfort with basic math and administrative responsibilities is expected.
