THE ROLE

The Performance Dietician Specialist – Delivery plans, delivers and evaluates performance nutrition services tailored to meet the current and evolving needs of CANSOFCOM members. They will provide performance nutrition advice and coaching to CANSOFCOM members based on evidence-based peer-reviewed literature and assesses and analyzes dietary practices, body composition, and energy balance (intake and expenditure) of CANSOFCOM members in the context of athletic performance and health. They will counsel CANSOFCOM members on achieving and maintaining a level of body mass, body fat, and muscle mass that is consistent with good health and performance. They will also provides personalized individual and group meal and snack plans to promote the achievement of goals for optimal performance and good health.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Nutritional Science, Sports Nutrition, Applied Human Nutrition or a related field AND several years of experience in a related field

AND

Registered with the Ontario College of Dietitians or with a provincial regulatory organization and a member of Dietitians of Canada

Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), an asset

Precision Nutrition Level 1 and 2 Certifications, an asset

NCSA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certification, an asset

Experience

- In working with elite athletes in a high performance environment
- In planning,



delivering and performing ongoing evaluation of performance nutrition/sport specific demands based services and programs

- In addressing client non-evidence based nutrition beliefs/attitudes
- In evaluating effectiveness of performance nutrition services
- In assessing the impact of nutrition on performance and injury prevention

- In planning and delivering training courses, workshops, presentations and specialized clinics
- In performance nutrition coaching, education, training and meal planning
- In facilitation techniques and strategies

- In adult education principles and techniques
- In managing projects
- In risk management
- In communication and marketing
- In budget administration
- In applying policies, procedures, and regulations

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English or French Essential / Bilingual an asset
