Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance with morning routine. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a seniors. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, patient care, or home care environments, and possess a genuine desire to promote independence and well-being.

This position involves working closely to deliver personalized care in a respectful and qualified manner. MUST LIVE IN OR BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO NORTH VAN. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS.

The shift can be 5-6 days a week, 2 hours starting from 8am.

Responsibilities

- Assist client with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor health status
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals




- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures, especially when working with individuals with dementia or in hospice care settings

Skills

- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care is preferred
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient safety and comfort
- Knowledge of dementia care, senior care, and working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude with patience and empathy for diverse needs
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of medication administration and meal preparation is advantageous
