With a customer-first mindset, we make doing business with McCain easy. McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking an experienced Licensed Industrial Electrician to lead our Packaging Maintenance team.

Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities that support plant reliability, operational efficiency, and safety performance. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in preventative and reactive maintenance execution while driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of safety, engagement, and accountability. Lead the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance work within the Maintenance Reliability Program.

Source parts, materials, equipment, and contracted services while preparing purchase requisitions as required. Own and maintain preventative maintenance plans, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and standard job/task documentation. Prioritize maintenance activities and ensure proper resource allocation across shift and day-based maintenance teams.

Lead the effective completion of preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance activities throughout the facility. Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, contractors, suppliers, and leadership teams to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Support and promote MDI and MDI x AI initiatives, participate in daily DDS meetings, and maintain Packaging Maintenance defect logs.

Provide technical support, coaching, and professional development opportunities for maintenance team members. Champion change initiatives and support a culture focused on continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.



Ensure adherence to budget expectations and key maintenance performance metrics including planned work, backlog aging, preventative maintenance compliance, and BOM accuracy.

Licensed Industrial

Electrician certification. Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. SAP experience is considered a strong asset. Proven ability to build productive relationships with operations teams, contractors, suppliers, and peers. Additional trade certifications or experience are considered an asset. Commitment to continuous improvement, safety excellence, and operational reliability.

The Packaging

Maintenance team plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of packaging operations within the facility. Working closely with Production, Reliability, and Maintenance teams, this role provides leadership and coordination to ensure maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and effectively while supporting overall plant performance goals. Most office-based roles follow a hybrid mode, with the option to work remotely two days a week.
