Lead health and safety compliance for the Town of Slave Lake, applying legislation knowledge and hazard management expertise across the organization.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this Health and Safety Coordinator maintains the Town’s Health and Safety Management System. The work includes safety legislation compliance, emergency response procedures, incident investigations, and facility inspections. You will collaborate with managers, supervisors, workers, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide health and safety guidance to managers, supervisors, and workers
- Maintain standards, policies, procedures, and supporting safety systems
- Coordinate facility, job site, and contractor worksite inspections




- Coordinate incident investigations and review trends and causes
- Report to occupational health and safety authorities as required

Requirements:

- Three years of related work experience
- Working toward or certified under Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Safety certification training considered a solid asset
- Microsoft Office and database application proficiency
- Current Alberta Class 5 Driver’s Licence
