We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook/Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. This role is essential for maintaining efficient kitchen operations and providing excellent food service to our guests.
Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, and a strong interest in the food industry and willingness to learn are equally valued.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal preparation according to recipes and standards
- Grill work as a specialized line cook (grillardin) operating the grill station to prepare meats, seafood, and vegetables. Managing heat zones , on grills and gas stoves, ensuring proper doneness (temperature/flavor), maintaining food safety, and preparing food orders
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper food safety and sanitation practices
- Assist in cooking dishes, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients
- Support the kitchen team during busy service times to ensure timely meal delivery
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and storage
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying management of stock needs
- Serve as a team player by supporting other kitchen staff members as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards
- Strong understanding of food handling procedures and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Passion for the food industry with a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends as required
