We're looking for an experienced Mini Excavator / Skid Steer Operator to join our residential construction team.

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious operator who is proficient with both machines, can work independently, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate mini excavators and skid steers for residential excavation, foundation work, utility trenching, backfilling, and site grading.
- Perform demolition, site preparation, and other excavation work as required.
- Work safely around underground utilities and existing structures.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, grade slips, and utility locates.
- Conduct daily equipment and site inspections.
- Maintain equipment in clean, protected, and operational condition.
- Work independently while coordinating effectively with supervisors, crew members, and other contractors.
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable ground disturbance requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

- Minimum 2 years of relevant equipment operating experience, preferably in residential construction.
- Demonstrated proficiency operating both mini excavators and skid steers. Experience with both machines is mandatory.
- Experience with residential excavation, backfilling, and grading.
- Valid Ground Disturbance Level II and First Aid certifications.




- Ability to read and understand site plans, grade slips, and utility locates.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Reliable transportation to and from worksites.
- Ability to work independently and safely in an active construction environment.

Considered an Asset:

- Commercial construction experience.
- Equipment Operator Competency Certificate.

Additional Site Access Requirements Successful candidates must be willing to undergo pre-access drug and alcohol testing as required for safety-sensitive positions and client worksites.

Applicants must also meet applicable client-specific safety and site-access requirements.
